Collection consists of 33 autograph, typescript and carbon copy typescript letters and 1 postcard between John Fowles, Herbert van Thal and Gillon Aitken. The correspondence dates from 1963 to 1978. The writings consist of the typescripts and manuscript material for the French Lieutenant's Woman and the Collector. The Collector is housed separately.
